The Ministry has many branches and operating units offering online information and searchable databases. In addition, many offer the chance to submit documents, register, or make an application online.

Companies Office
The Companies Office provides business registry services in relation to corporate entities, personal property and capital market securities.

Crown Minerals
Crown Minerals promotes and manages the Crown mineral estate (oil, gas and petroleum). You can download technical data, view maps, current permits and petroleum blocks offer information on their website.

Electrical Workers Registration
The Electrical Workers Register is an electronic register which allows electrical workers to apply and renew practising licences, update contact and safety training details and order items from an online bookshop.

Insolvency & Trustee Services
The Insolvency and Trustee Service provides an electronic database available to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Go online to search the insolvency and banned directors databases and to register claims.

Intellectual Property
The Intellectual Property Office (IPONZ) provides information on patents, trade marks and designs. Online services include filing trade mark applications and correspondence, renewal of all IP types, and searching of patents, trade marks and designs.

Gas & Electrical Safety
All appliances sold in New Zealand must be safe, in accordance with Electricity and Gas Regulations. A Electricity and Gas Appliance Declaration Safety Regime operates in New Zealand.

Insurance & Superannuation Unit
The Insurance and Superannuation Unit (ISU) supervises the management of registered superannuation schemes, encouraging compliance with the Superannuation Schemes Act 1989. Online information includes quarterly ratings schedules and superannuation statis

Motor Vehicle Traders
The Motor Vehicle Traders Register (MVTR) is publicly available electronic register that contains information about whether a motor vehicle trader is registered, and information about the trader's business, including its physical address.

Personal Property & Securities
The Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) is a fully electronic register where information about security interests in personal property are recorded and searched. The PPSR is available to the public 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Plants Variety Rights
The Plant Variety Rights Office website allows users to search the database of registered plant variety rights in New Zealand.

Radio Spectrum
Radio Spectrum management (RSM) manages the radio spectrum. A key function of RSM is to issue and register spectrum and radio licences. The main online service offered is SMART an electronic register that allows clients to apply for a radio licence online
