Welcome to the Insurance and Superannuation Unit

This site provides access to resources and publications available from the Insurance and Superannuation Unit (ISU) of the Ministry of Economic Development and incorporates the Government Actuary.

The ISU supervises the management of registered superannuation schemes, encouraging compliance with the Superannuation Schemes Act 1989. It also ensures insurance companies comply with the statutory obligations under the Life Insurance Act 1908 and Insurance Companies' Deposits Act 1953, and administers the Insurance Companies (Ratings and Inspections) Act 1994.

Appointment of KiwiSaver Default Providers
